With this being our inaugural blog post, we would like to formally welcome you to Snap-File. Please watch our videos and peruse the site. Of course, we’re always open to speaking live so please contact us anytime. We hope this blog will be a location for small business owners and operators to gain knowledge about the paperless world, cloud content management, as well as any new mobile oriented technology and how it can best interact with the small or medium sized business.
One of the main purposes for founding Snap-File is the realization that there is not a quick reference guide for your specific company to do-it-yourself with technology. There are thousands of solutions branded as ‘turn key,’ but the reality is it takes time to learn how to use new tools well enough that an individual can successfully deploy an efficient paperless solution. We discovered that most smaller businesses- those under 100 employees- have had to figure out much of their technological infrastructure on their own. We live in the new world of the ‘consumerization of IT’ and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)- just download the app and it’ll fix all your problems, it’s easy right?
Due to the high-speed nature of a small business, there is no time to spend figuring out the most efficient deployment for every type of tool needed… even if the app only took 8 seconds to install and the SaaS account rep said it’ll spit shine your shoes for an extra dollar per month. The result of so many easy to access tools, especially when it comes to business content, is that information gets scattered throughout multiple partially deployed systems, which rarely compliment each other. These systems are typically working “well enough” to not burn the house down (…yet), and thus continue existing. What happens when things do go up in flames?
Now is the time to turn that fixer-upper into the envy of the neighborhood without breaking the bank. Make tools like box, documents to go, inuit apps, pdf expert, docusign, etc. work together and work for you.
SMBs have a legitimate growing need for some of these modern tools (like cloud content management), and there is no shortage of providers out there. We all learn new buzzwords and hot logos almost daily. A major goal of Snap-File, on top of making your paper filled office magically transform to a functional and digital office, is to eliminate the fear of new technology by providing you industry best practices that are proven successful. We want to eliminate the guesswork and provide you with what does work.
With that in mind please join us as we untangle the technology web, one small business at a time.
